English Essay- Cue for treason

English Essay-Cue For Treason
Tyler Lachance-ENG 1D1
April 15th 2011

My English essay will be on the allowance of women acting in the theater.

Although not everybody would agree, I want to argue that women such as Katherine Russel AKA: Kit Kirkstone, should be able to have as many rights to act as the men do.

I have several reasons for arguing this point of view.

My first reason is, that letting women act will save the touring group money on making the men look and act like women. The women already do look and act this way. The men must ask of more money to act like a woman, mostly because it is a less practical part for them to play, and would ask more money as a “compensation” sort of thing.

Another reason would be, the RIGHTS of these women! From my opinion I think that it is totally sexist for the men being allowed to act but not the women. There should be a new law passed to enforce the rights of women. Even in this era. I think Queen Elizabeth, being a woman, would understand the grief of these women and not being able to act freely.

Therefore, though some people might argue that, there is no law already made saying that woman can’t act. Also that there is a law saying they can’t.

I think I have shown that, women do have potential to act and there are several good reasons why should be able to.

Reactions-You've Been Warned

The main reaction that i had in this book was SHOCK. I was totally shocked at many parts of this book, especially when we find out that Michael is a wife killer and when Kristen gets beaten by the ghost of Frank Delmonico. There is many moments in this book when I have to re read the sentence because i cannot believe what i am seeing, the way that this author throws everything at you at once is like a wave of shock and disbelief and I think that, that is what he is going for.

Mood-You've been warned

The mood of this story is a variety of feelings. If i could summarize it into one feeling it would have to be... Terrified. To go into detail, Kristen is always having an awful dream that she is the one and only witness of a murder and when she asks people whats going on, they don't see anything and they think that she is crazy! The feeling of herself going insane is constantly running through her mind and it must be very scary for her because she is still quite young, and age 34. Also, another terrifying moment in her adventure as a devil, she is assaulted by the ghost of deceased Detective Frank Delmonico! She is thrown all over her apartment, practically beaten to death. All that Frank has to say is that it is HER fault, for what? She doesn't even know! That is why i think "Terrified" would be an appropriate mood for the story, because there is an unspoken feeling of fear in every chapter of the book, even the happy chapters.

Questions-You've been warned

Some of the questions that i have for James patterson are:

Why did you make Michael a murderer?
Why diddnt you just make Michael divorce Penly and have it over with? and then he and Kristen could go on and live a happy life with the kids?
What did "the ponytail" have to do with the story at all?
What happened to Frank Delmonico after he said goodbye to Kristen before she died?
What happened to Kristen after the EMS paramedic notcied she was still alive?

You've Been Warned-Novel Cover

My book-You've Been Warned

I chose this book, because it seemed visually striking to me. For example the purposely teared cover with the words "Don't look" beneath it, immediately caught my eye in our library at home. Also, i chose this book because it was recommended to me by my stepfather.

Author-You've Been Warned

James Patterson is a legendary suspense and trhiller author. He writes both single books and series books, like his "Maximum" series. Each book in that series stars the same main characters and the title starts with "Maximum". This was the first book that I have ever read by him and certainly not my last. I used to be obsessed with Eric Walters and he is still a great author but i think i have outgrown his context and style of writing.

James absolutly killed "You've Been Warned" he uses the perfect senses of setting and desctiption of detail. The mixture of drama and suspence in this book throws you off from the start and as soon as you start to figure things out he writes the unexpected and gives you something else to ponder about.

James Patterson is an author that everyone can enjoy he has the perfect style and genre of books for everyone.

Reactions-You've Been Warned.

This book was easily one of the best i have ever read, James Patterson has done it again! The way that he writes is so intense and suspensefull, that it will blow your mind, just when you think you have it all figured out he throws the unexpected at you.

The storyline of this book being that Michael is having an affair with the nanny instantly brings a "known from the beining" decent amount of drama and troubles. Overall the book was a great thrill and drama filled experience that i will probably remember for a long time, it made a huge impact on how I will read books from now on. I would recomend this book to everyone even if you don't like suspense thrillers, you will after you have read this peice of art.

Quotations- You've Been Warned

In my book, there comes a time where i noticed an exceptionally great piece of writing. About halfway through the book she is still having her reoccouring dream and she is starting to run into some really weird people. People that are supposed to be dead. One persone she runs into is detective Frank Delmonico, he is a homocide detective that was murdered 5 years ago! Then, even worse, she once again rejoices with her deceaced father! She swears that it is him, she pulls out her professional camera and snaps a quick shot, then engages him. "Dad! Dad!" she yells but her father, turns looks at her then starts sprinting away. Why would he do this? She chases after him and finally has caught him. "Dad what is happening"? she asks. "you are a devil kristen." Her father replys. "But how i dont understand?". Kristen pleads. "Stay away from me Kristen. you've been warned."

At this part of my book it kind of gave me the chills, because this was totally unexpected and then even worse when she develops the photograph that she took, her father had a transparent look to him, like he wasn't even there. The statement that her father made, being the title of the book only made it that much more intense!

Characters- You've been warned

The main characters in my story, had very rough and stressful lives. The're names are, Kristen Burns, Michael Turnbull, Penley Turnbull, and, Dakota and Sean Turnbull. The Turnbulls are a very wealthy family. They live in the penthouse suite of a well established, apartment complex. Kristen Burns is the Antologist. .Dakota and Sean, their ages are 7 and 5, Dakota being the oldest. Dakota and Sean reminded me of my two little cousins. Caitlyn and Cameron.

Kristin Burns is the nanny at the turnbulls residence. She takes care of Dakota and Sean while Penly "the pencil" runs errands for her big shot husband Michael while he is at work. She takes the kids to school every morning and picks them up and retuns them home after a visit to the playground at New York's Centeral Park. In life, being a nanny can be a stressful job. For this nanny it is even worse. She is under cover. She is Michael's secret Mistress! Yes you read it correctly, Kristin is having a secret affair with Michael! Kristin is in LOVE with Michael. As he is with her. Michael cares for Kristen much more than he does his own wife Penley. Kristin is running what she calls her "dump Penley campaign" and it is working, but there is a catch. If Michael divorces Penley, he will loose a good chunk of buisness for his company from her father. Throughout the story Kristen is haunted with the same reoccouring nightmare. She is litteraly going crazy, and what is worse, weeks after having the dream, what happens to the person in her dream, happens to her!

Michael Turnbull is a corporate company big shot, he makes LOADS of money, which is why he is always sporting a fancy suit and a platinum Rolex. As i said above, he is in a relationship with 3 people. His wife Penley, his nanny Kristen and his work. In the end Michael finds out that his wife was also having an affair with someone! Michael does something completly drastic and i do NOT approve. He murders Penley and her lover right in front of Kristen. She is very upset about his decision but he assures her that everything will be okay, and no one will find out that he has done it. As he places his slienced pistol into Penley's lover's hand to try and make it look like a murder/suicide. Michael murdering his wife and her lover is extremly hypacritacal of him and i do not approve of his desicion. Michael being in a relationship with his nanny is obviously worng, but when you look at who he is married to, you cant really blame him.

Dakota and Sean are Michaels and Penley's children, and Kristen is in LOVE with them she absolutly adores them. Part of her "dump Penley campaign" is to obtain custody of the kids. Dakota age 7 is a cute little girl with pig tales and Hello Kitty everything. From head to toe she is decked out in Hello Kitty! Sean age 5 is incredibly smart  for his age, he can sense anger and trouble in his houshold. He, like Dakota, has a fashion trend, his is Jimmy Neutron.
